Roger's Stuff

Roger recently said, "Mom, why don't you ever knit me anything? Missy's mom brings bags of hand knit socks for her every visit". Missy is Roger's girlfriend. Well J.K. was a bit annoyed by this comment because she has offered to knit Roger any number of things and she knit him an iPod case which he still uses.

So I knit him some hand warmers, and gave them to him yesterday, while he was home cooking my birthday dinner, which by the way, was yummy!

Thanks Roger!

J.K. turns 55 today! Michele Obama's birthday was yesterday. I wish I could party with the sister.

Junknitter mentioned to Fred that she wanted to sew a little apron with two pouches to hold each ball of yarn when knitting two things at a time on circular needles. He said why not just use a bra? It is so fun being married to a genius!

To really make this work, I think I need about a 32 DDD cup. It works best if you thread the ball through the shoulder straps. Still needs some refining.

Finished two at a time!

Secular Secret Santa

Junknitter has worked at the same job for 14 years in March of '09. Each year we have a secular secret santa office gift deal. Look at these amazing chocolats my secret santa gave me the first week. We are only to spend $5 on each gift except the last one, this is no $5 gift. How lucky am I?

Knit two socks together on two circular needles.

You can knit two socks at the same time, and not feel burdened by knitting one sock, and then feeling too bored to knit the second one. It is easy. Takes two balls of yarn.
First cast on one sock, get it sorted on to the two needles in your usual fashion, and then on the other end of the needles, cast on the other sock, sorting the stitches on to that end of the needles, making sure the end of the yarn attached to the ball ends up on the same side and same direction on the needles.
